Preparation
Step 1
How to bake the two-tone “Two Chocolates” loaf cake? Measure out the ingredients for the dark batter. Take the butter out ahead of time so it softens at room temperature.
Step 2
Break or chop the white chocolate into small pieces.
Step 3
Using a mixer, beat the softened butter with sugar until pale and fluffy. Use a bowl with high sides to prevent splattering.
Step 4
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step 5
Add the sifted flour mixture (with baking powder and cocoa). Mix with a spoon or mixer until no lumps remain.
Step 6
The batter should be smooth, glossy, and fairly thick.
Step 7
Add the white chocolate to the batter. Mix well so the pieces are evenly distributed.
Step 8
Now make the light batter. The butter should also be softened at room temperature. You can use any dark chocolate (milk or bittersweet). Choose good-quality chocolate without fillings.
Step 9
Combine flour with baking powder and sift through a sieve.
Step 10
Break the dark chocolate into pieces.
Step 11
Beat the softened butter with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy.
Step 12
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each, until the mixture is light and uniform.
Step 13
Add the sifted flour mixture (with baking powder).
Step 14
Mix until you get a smooth, creamy batter.
Step 15
Add the dark chocolate pieces and mix well.
Step 16
Spoon the dark batter into the loaf pan and level it. If your pan needs it, grease the bottom and sides with a bit of butter first.
Step 17
Spread the light batter on top and smooth the surface.
Step 18
Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (356°F) for about 45 minutes. Baking time depends on your oven. Check doneness with a wooden skewer - it should come out dry. If the cake is browned but still underbaked inside, cover the top with foil. Let the cake cool slightly, then remove it from the pan.
Step 19
Let the cake cool completely. If desired, decorate with melted chocolate.
Step 20
Slice and serve. Enjoy!
