Preparation
Step 1
How do you make tomato, corn, cheese, and garlic salad? Prepare the ingredients. Choose fleshy tomatoes with a rich color. Fresh seasonal vegetables work best. When choosing tomatoes, I go by their smell, it should be bright and truly tomato-like. Any cheese will work: all hard and semi-hard cheeses are suitable, and blue cheese works too. I use canned corn, but you can also use boiled corn by simply cutting the kernels off the cob.
Step 2
Wash the tomatoes well. Then dry them, remove the stems, and cut them. I sliced mine into thin wedges. But the cutting method does not affect the flavor of the salad, so it can be any shape you like.
Step 3
Place the tomatoes into a salad bowl. Drain the liquid from the corn. Add the corn to the tomatoes.
Step 4
Add 1 crushed garlic clove. I pressed the garlic through a garlic press. But you can also grate it on a fine grater or chop it with a knife. If you do not have fresh garlic, you can replace it with garlic powder.
Step 5
Salt the salad. Keep in mind that the cheese may also be fairly salty, so do not overdo the salt. At this stage, you can also add pepper to the salad, or add ground paprika or any other favorite seasonings.
Step 6
Grate the cheese and add it to the salad. If you are using blue cheese, it is enough just to break it into pieces. You can also add chopped fresh herbs to taste: dill, parsley, cilantro, and green onion.
Step 7
Dress the salad with sour cream. It should be natural, without milk fat substitutes. The fat content of the sour cream is up to your taste, from 10% to 30%. If you wish, you can replace the sour cream with mayonnaise.
Step 8
Serve the salad as a dish on its own or as an addition to meat, poultry, and fish. Enjoy your meal!
