Step 1
How do you make a salad with tomatoes, cheese, and eggs? Wash the tomatoes and cut them into small cubes. Using a food ring, shape them into a circle on a serving plate. Add mayonnaise on top. Lightly salt this layer. Since the tomatoes are the base of this salad and determine the overall result, choose the tastiest and sweetest tomatoes possible.
Step 2
Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater. The flavor of the cheese is also extremely important. I used Gouda. But Tilsiter, Parmesan, and even a simple fermented cheese will work. In principle, you can experiment with different kinds of cheese and choose your favorite.
Step 3
Place the grated cheese as the second layer and gently press it down with a spoon. This is necessary so that the salad does not fall apart when the food ring is removed.
Step 4
Boil the egg hard in advance and separate the white from the yolk. Grate the egg white on a fine grater and add it as the next layer. Grate the peeled garlic into this layer as well and add mayonnaise.
Step 5
And the final touch is the egg yolk, grated on a fine grater. Sprinkle it over the salad, remove the ring, decorate the salad with a sprig of fresh herbs, and serve. Enjoy your meal!
