Sweet Fried Dough Balls (Ghanaian Bofrot)

Preparation
Step 1
Mix flour, sugar, salt, nutmeg, and yeast in a bowl. Add warm water gradually and mix until you get a thick, stretchy batter. Cover and let rise for 45-60 minutes, until doubled.
Step 2
Heat vegetable oil in a pot (medium heat). It should be hot but not smoking.
Step 3
Scoop small balls of batter using a spoon or your hands. Drop carefully into oil. Fry until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 mins). Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 4
Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle honey. Enjoy warm!
