Preparation
Step 1
How do you make squid, egg, mayonnaise, and cucumber salad? Use fresh cucumbers. Boil the eggs in salted water for about 7-10 minutes. I will use mayonnaise for dressing the salad. You can also make mayonnaise yourself.
Step 2
Thaw the squid, remove the skin, backbones, and innards. Rinse each squid under cold water. Bring water to a boil in a pot, lower the squid into it for 1-2 minutes, then remove and place on a plate. Let the squid cool completely. Do not cook the squid for too long, otherwise it will become tough.
Step 3
Prepare a deep bowl or salad bowl. Cut the cooled squid into thin strips and place it in the bowl. The salad will look neat and attractive if all the ingredients are cut into pieces of the same size and shape. In this case, I am choosing to cut everything into strips. In my opinion, the salad looks more appetizing this way.
Step 4
Peel the eggs and cut them into thin strips. Add the sliced eggs to the bowl with the squid. Prepare salads only from fully cooled ingredients. If made from warm ingredients, the salad can spoil quickly.
Step 5
Rinse the fresh cucumbers under cold running water, trim the ends, and cut them into thin strips. If the skin is not tough, damaged, or bitter, there is no need to peel it. Add the sliced cucumber to the salad bowl.
Step 6
Rinse the fresh dill under cold running water, shake off the excess liquid, chop it, and add it to the salad. I recommend using thin stems and leaves, and saving the thick stems for soup, for example.
Step 7
Dress the salad with mayonnaise and mix. Taste for salt, add more if needed, and stir again.
Step 8
Serve the finished salad immediately. It works well as a light dinner and also fits both everyday and festive menus. Enjoy your meal!
