Spicy Ketchup Pickled Cucumbers for Winter

Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all necessary ingredients and spices for the crispy pickled cucumbers in spicy tomato ketchup for the upcoming winter.
Step 2
Take a large bowl and place 2 kg (about 4.4 lbs) of cucumbers inside. Wash them thoroughly, trim the ends, and soak in cold water for 2-3 hours, changing the water once during soaking.
Step 3
Pour 1.2 liters (about 5 cups) of warm boiled water into a pot, then add 2 tablespoons of coarse salt and 150 g (¾ cup) of sugar.
Step 4
Add 150 g (¾ cup) of spicy tomato ketchup to the pot and mix all ingredients well.
Step 5
Fill sterilized jars tightly with the prepared cucumbers.
Step 6
Place the pot with the marinade on the stove, cover, and bring it to a boil over high heat. Then pour in 150 ml (⅔ cup) of 9% vinegar, stir, and boil for another 2 minutes.
Step 7
Pour the hot marinade into the jars filled with cucumbers, filling them to the top.
Step 8
Cover the jars with pre-sterilized lids.
Step 9
Place the jars in a large pot lined with a kitchen towel and filled with hot water. Bring the water to a boil and sterilize the jars for 7-8 minutes over low heat.
Step 10
After sterilization, seal the jars tightly, turn them upside down to check for leaks, then cover with a warm blanket and let cool completely.
Step 11
Store the spicy ketchup cucumbers in a cool, dark place away from heat sources.
