1
Red chilli pepper
Table
Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Mix together 3 tablespoons of the honey, a pinch of white pepper, garlic powder, sesame oil, and 3 tablespoons of soy sauce to form the marinade.
Step 2
Place the chicken wings into a saucepan, cover with cold water, and bring to the boil. Once boiling, cook for 5 minutes, skimming off any impurities from the surface. Remove the wings and immediately place them into the prepared marinade, coating thoroughly and leaving them to soak for at least 5-10 minutes.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 180C.
Step 4
Arrange the marinated wings on a lined baking tray and brush with some of the reserved marinade. Bake for 10 minutes. Baste again with the remaining marinade, then return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Step 5
Meanwhile, place the ginger, chilli, and whole garlic clove into a small saucepan along with the remaining 3 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Simmer gently until the sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon. Remove the ginger, garlic, and chilli, then transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with sliced spring onion.
Step 6
Remove the wings from the oven, sprinkle over sesame seeds, and serve alongside the dipping sauce. Enjoy immediately.
