Preparation
Step 1
How do you fry lavash with egg? Prepare all the ingredients. Crack the egg into a bowl and beat it with a fork.
Step 2
Using kitchen scissors, cut circles from the lavash to fit the size of your skillet. You should end up with an even number of circles.
Step 3
Add salt to a bowl of water and stir until it dissolves.
Step 4
Place the skillet on the stove and heat it. Add 1 tsp butter and melt it.
Step 5
Fully dip two lavash circles into the salted water for a couple of seconds. The circles will stick firmly to each other - this is what you need.
Step 6
Put the lavash into the skillet on the hot butter. Set the heat to medium. Fry on one side for about 30 seconds.
Step 7
Flip the lavash to the other side.
Step 8
Pour 1 Tbsp water (the same water used for soaking) directly onto the lavash in the skillet. Be careful not to get burned by the steam!
Step 9
Brush part of the egg mixture over the lavash using a pastry brush, or use a tablespoon if you don’t want to dirty the brush. A thin, even layer sets better, and the lavash with egg will be easier to flip.
Step 10
Use a spatula to flip the lavash so the “egg” side is down. Note: you need a good skillet so the egg doesn’t stick or burn.
Step 11
Add 1 Tbsp water again and watch out for the hot steam.
Step 12
Flip the lavash once more and fold it in half. The dish is ready! Repeat the same with the remaining ingredients. Serve the lavash hot. Enjoy!
