Preparation
Step 1
How do you make sauce with mayonnaise and fresh cucumbers? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Ideally, the cucumbers should be seasonal, but those sold in supermarkets during winter will also work for making this sauce - here it is not critical.
Step 2
How do you prepare the cucumbers for grating? Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and cut off the ends. If the skin is bitter or very tough, peel it off as well. Carefully grate the cucumbers on a fine grater. Put the mayonnaise into a bowl. Add the grated cucumbers to the bowl with the mayonnaise.
Step 3
How do you chop the herbs and garlic for the sauce? Rinse the fresh dill, shake it well, remove any poor-quality sprigs, dry or spoiled, and chop it finely. If the stems are thick and tough, cut them off. Add the chopped herbs to the mayonnaise and cucumbers. Peel the garlic, grate it on a fine grater, and add it to the prepared ingredients. You can use more or less garlic according to your taste.
Step 4
How do you mix the ingredients until smooth? Add salt and pepper to the cucumber sauce and stir gently. The sauce with mayonnaise and cucumbers is ready. It is not advisable to store the finished sauce for a long time in the refrigerator because of the perishable cucumber juice, so try to prepare only a small amount for one or two servings. With Dijon mustard, this sauce easily turns into an elegant version of tartar sauce.
Step 5
What should you serve the finished sauce with? Serve the tasty sauce with mayonnaise, fresh cucumbers, and garlic with grilled meat, fish, and seafood. You can also use it as a salad dressing or simply serve it with chips and vegetable sticks. Enjoy your meal!
