Preparation
Step 1
How do you fry a salmon steak on a grill pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients. When choosing the fish, pay attention to its smell, color, and firmness. The steaks should have a fresh, mild sea aroma. Their color should be delicate coral, without intense color patches, with thin streaks of fat near the skin. The flesh should not be slimy or fall apart into fibers when lightly pressed. Besides salmon, you can use any red-fleshed fish.
Step 2
You can use ready-cut steaks or cut them yourself. I had a whole fish, which I cut into steaks. It is easiest to cut fish into steaks when it is slightly frozen. This gives you a more even cut. Rinse the salmon steaks and pat them dry with paper towels. Sprinkle the fish with spices on both sides and add pepper to taste. Leave the fish to marinate for about 15 minutes.
Step 3
Heat the olive oil in a grill pan. Place the steaks in the pan and fry over high heat for about 4 minutes. Then turn the fish over and fry for another 3–4 minutes. The exact time depends on the size of the steaks, the pan you use, and how your stove works.
Step 4
Turn off the heat and leave the steaks in the cooling pan, covered, for about 10 minutes.
Step 5
The steaks are ready. You can serve them. Enjoy!
