Very tasty, colorful and festive, made from simple ingredients! Red Riding Hood salad with tomatoes can be prepared not only with chicken, as I did, but also with any other meat, mushrooms or crab sticks. It looks beautiful on the holiday table and is always the first to be eaten!

Preparation
Step 1
How to make Red Riding Hood salad with tomatoes? Prepare all the ingredients. Wash and dry the vegetables well. Boil them until cooked through and let them cool. I recommend using homemade mayonnaise. Instead of chicken you can use another type of meat, sausage or mushrooms - fried, marinated or salted, to your taste. If you are using chicken, boil it in salted water in advance and cool.
Step 2
Cut the boiled chicken fillet into small cubes and transfer to a large bowl.
Step 3
Peel the boiled potatoes and carrots and cut them into small cubes. Add them to the chicken in the bowl.
Step 4
Peel the boiled egg and cut it into small cubes. Add it to the bowl.
Step 5
Add mayonnaise to the salad. Instead of mayonnaise you can use sour cream or plain unsweetened yogurt.
Step 6
Gently mix all the ingredients with the mayonnaise (or with whatever you are using instead of it).
Step 7
Line a small rounded bowl with plastic wrap. Put the salad into it and press down well.
Step 8
Invert the bowl onto a larger serving plate and carefully remove the plastic wrap. You can also shape the salad using a metal ring, but then the top will not be rounded and it won’t really look like a “cap”. If that’s not important to you, use a ring.
Step 9
Prepare the decoration for the salad. Here the décor matters, because thanks to it the salad got its beautiful name - Red Riding Hood. Get the ingredients ready. Try to choose cherry tomatoes of similar size so the decoration looks more striking.
Step 10
Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes, then cut them in half.
Step 11
Grate the cheese on a medium or fine grater.
Step 12
Lightly brush the surface of the salad with a thin layer of mayonnaise using a pastry brush. If the top is already quite moist, as mine was, you can skip this step. Arrange the cherry tomato halves over the entire surface of the salad. Sprinkle grated cheese around the base of the salad. Serve the salad. Enjoy!
