Preparation
Step 1
How do you make quick marinated beets with garlic? It’s quite simple. First, prepare all the ingredients from the list. You can use beets that are boiled or baked in foil in the oven until tender. Stores also sell ready-cooked boiled beets in vacuum packs - using those will save you time.
Step 2
Boil the beets in their skins in boiling water until tender, or wrap in foil and bake in a preheated 180°C / 356°F oven for 1 hour. Exact time depends on the freshness and size of the beets. Cool the cooked beets, peel, and slice into wedges or rounds.
Step 3
Peel the garlic and finely chop it with a knife.
Step 4
Make the marinade: pour water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Add sugar, vinegar, vegetable oil, and salt. Simmer everything together for a couple of minutes.
Step 5
Put the cooked beets and chopped garlic into a deep bowl. Pour the marinade over them.
Step 6
Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and leave to marinate at room temperature for 8-10 hours.
Step 7
Remove the finished beets from the marinade onto a plate, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and serve. You can use parsley, dill, or cilantro. Enjoy your meal!
