Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake potatoes in an oven bag? Prepare the listed ingredients. Choose potatoes of similar size; use small carrots. One celery stalk is enough, and the onion should be medium-sized. Use a herb blend to taste - store-bought is fine, or add your favorite dried herbs. You can skip the sun-dried tomatoes entirely. Prepare the oven bag and preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
Step 2
Wash and peel the potatoes and carrots. Rinse again and pat dry. For a family dinner, you can simply slice the potatoes into rounds; for a more decorative look, use a crinkle cutter (that’s what I used). Slice the carrots into rounds.
Step 3
Rinse and chop the celery. Peel the onion and garlic. Slice the onion into half-rings and press the garlic through a garlic press.
Step 4
Take the oven bag and add the prepared vegetables: potatoes, onion, carrots, celery, and garlic.
Step 5
Add dried herbs and sun-dried tomatoes, salt, and ground black pepper. When salting, remember that mayonnaise already contains salt so you don’t over-salt.
Step 6
Add the mayonnaise and pour in the vegetable oil.
Step 7
Mix everything in the bag so the spices and mayonnaise coat the vegetables evenly. Tie the bag or secure it with clips. Poke a few holes with a toothpick. Place the bag on a baking sheet or in a baking dish in case it leaks. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes. Exact time and temperature depend on your oven.
Step 8
Serve the cooked potatoes and vegetables hot. It’s quite filling and can be served as a main dish for lunch (I don’t recommend it for dinner). If you like, serve it as a side with chicken or meat. Pair it with a fresh vegetable salad or homemade pickles.
