Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients for making skewers at home. Skewers can be made from different cuts of pork: shoulder, neck, or tenderloin. Those who like juicy skewers should choose pork neck, because it has streaks of fat that will keep the meat from drying out. I prefer leaner pork, so I chose pork shoulder.
Step 2
Rinse the pork thoroughly, pat it dry with paper towels, and cut it into small cubes. If the pork pieces are large, they will burn while rotating in the electric skewer grill, because they will be too close to the heating element.
Step 3
Peel the onion and cut it into small cubes. The onion is chopped finely so that, during the quick marinating process, it releases its aroma into the meat.
Step 4
Place the pieces of meat in a bowl, add the finely chopped onion, pour in the vinegar, add the mayonnaise, and season with spices and salt. Mix everything with your hands and let the meat marinate for 20 minutes.
Step 5
After 20 minutes, turn on the electric skewer grill and let it heat up. Meanwhile, thread the pieces of meat onto the skewers. When the heating element is hot, place the skewers with the meat into the electric skewer grill and close it with the cover. After that, the meat will cook on its own. The electric appliance will slowly turn the skewers, and the meat will cook evenly on all sides.
