Preparation
Step 1
How do you knead pizza dough with dry yeast? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Warm the water to about 40°C / 104°F. It should be warm, but not scalding. In water that is too hot, the yeast will die, and in cold water, it will not activate.
Step 2
Dissolve the sugar and yeast in the warm water. Leave the yeast mixture for 10–15 minutes so the yeast can swell. A small foam should appear on the surface. If this does not happen, the yeast will need to be replaced. Dry yeast can be added directly to the flour and the dough can be kneaded, but I still dissolve it in water. In my opinion, this way the dough rises faster and turns out fluffier.
Step 3
Sift the flour with the salt into a bowl. This is necessary so the flour becomes aerated, and the finished dough turns out lighter and more tender.
Step 4
Make a well in the flour and pour the olive oil into it.
Step 5
Then pour in the yeast mixture and start kneading the dough first with a spoon, then with your hands.
Step 6
Knead a smooth, soft, elastic dough. If necessary, lightly dust the surface with flour while kneading. Cover the dough with a towel and leave it to rise for 25–30 minutes.
Step 7
During this time, the dough will roughly double in volume. The quick pizza dough with dry yeast is ready. You can start shaping the base. From this amount of dough, I made a pizza 25 cm / about 10 inches in diameter. Happy baking!
