Pickled Cucumbers Without Sugar or Sterilization

Preparation
Step 1
First, wash the cucumbers thoroughly and soak them in a basin of water. Trim off the ends, then prepare all the necessary spices for pickling and preserving your cucumbers for winter.
Step 2
Take the required number of sterile 1-liter jars. Place 5-7 black peppercorns, 2 garlic cloves, 1 dill flower head, and 1 bay leaf into each jar.
Step 3
Add 2-3 currant leaves to each jar (you can replace them with oak or bird cherry leaves) and add a small piece of hot chili pepper to taste.
Step 4
Pack the cucumbers tightly into the jars.
Step 5
In a pot, pour enough water for the brine - about 1 liter (4 cups) of water per 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of cucumbers. Bring the water to a boil, then add coarse pickling salt.
Step 6
Stir the salt well, cover the pot, and boil the water for 2 minutes to fully dissolve the salt.
Step 7
Place the clean jar lids in a bowl and pour boiling water over them to sterilize.
Step 8
Pour the prepared hot brine into the jars with cucumbers, filling them up to the top.

Cover the jars with lids and let them stand for 10 minutes to warm through.
Step 10
After 10 minutes, pour the brine back into the pot, cover, and bring it back to a boil.
Step 11
Add 9% table vinegar to the pot - 100 ml (about 7 tbsp) of vinegar per 1 liter (4 cups) of brine. Bring the marinade to a boil again.
Step 12
Pour the hot marinade back into the jars, filling them to the top, and seal them tightly with lids.
Step 13
Turn the jars upside down to check for leaks, then cover them with a warm blanket for several hours until completely cooled.
Step 14
Once the jars are cool, turn them upright and store them in a cool, dry place - a pantry or cellar works well.
