Peach Cobbler
A fragrant and unique pie made from simple ingredients! Peach cobbler is a traditional English dessert, something between a crumble and a classic pie. The batter takes only five minutes to prepare, and the process is very simple. You can bake it in one large dish or several small ones for individual servings.

Easy
About 45 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Any peaches will work for the cobbler - fresh, canned, or frozen. You can also combine them with other fruits or berries. My measuring cup holds 250 ml. I reduced the sugar by almost half - adjust to your taste. The fat content of the milk doesn’t matter.
Step 2
Take a mixing bowl. Sift the flour into it - this removes any impurities and adds air, making the baked cobbler fluffier.
Step 3
Add sugar, baking powder, and salt to the flour. Salt enhances the sweetness, so don’t skip it. Mix the dry ingredients well with a whisk.
Step 4
While stirring constantly, slowly pour in the milk. Mix until smooth and lump-free. The batter should be similar in consistency to pancake batter. Depending on the flour, you might need slightly more or less.
Step 5
Prepare a baking dish - mine was 12×7 inches (31×17 cm), but you can use smaller ramekins for individual cobblers. Place pieces of butter in the dish, then put it in the oven preheated to 350°F (180°C) until the butter melts completely.
Step 6
Meanwhile, prepare the peaches. Wash, dry, and cut them in half, remove the pit, and slice each half into four pieces. Next time, I’d slice them thinner for a softer texture.
Step 7
When the butter has melted, remove the dish from the oven but don’t turn the oven off.
Step 8
Immediately pour the batter into the hot dish without mixing it with the butter. The butter will float on top - that’s how it should be; it creates a golden, fragrant crust.
Step 9
Place the peach slices evenly on top. My baking dish was large, so the batter layer was thin, and the peaches stayed on top. If you want more batter above the fruit, use a smaller dish.
Step 10
Bake the cobbler for 30-35 minutes. If the peaches are on top, check doneness by time; if the batter covers them, bake until golden. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Baking time may vary depending on your oven.
Step 11
Serve the cobbler warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy your dessert!
