Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients required for the cheese-filled flatbreads.
Step 2
Sift 17.6 oz of flour into a large bowl. Add ½ teaspoon of salt and mix.
Step 3
Pour 1¼ cups of warm boiled water into the bowl. Mix until the ingredients begin to form a dough.
Step 4
Continue kneading the dough in the bowl with your hands.
Step 5
Transfer the dough to the work surface. Knead it briefly and shape it into a ball.
Step 6
Roll the dough into a thick log and divide it into 5 approximately equal pieces.
Step 7
Grease your hands with vegetable oil. Pour a little oil over each piece of dough and shape it into a small flat round.
Step 8
Place the dough rounds on a plate, cover them with a clean towel and leave to rest for about 20 minutes.
Step 9
Place one rested dough round on the work surface and brush it with vegetable oil. Carefully stretch it with your hands from the center toward the edges until very thin and almost translucent in places.
Step 10
Bring the edges of the dough inward from 2 opposite sides to create the required shape. Place a suitable amount of grated cheese in the center.
Step 11
Fold the remaining sides of the dough over the filling. Join the edges and seal them firmly.
Step 12
Heat a dry frying pan on the stove. Place one filled flatbread in the pan.
Step 13
Cover the pan with a lid. Cook the flatbread over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes on the first side.
Step 14
Turn the flatbread over after 2 minutes.
Step 15
Brush the cooked side with butter to taste.
Step 16
Cover the pan again and cook the second side for about 1 minute.
Step 17
Transfer the cooked flatbread to a plate and brush both sides with butter. Prepare the remaining flatbreads in the same way.
Step 18
Serve the cheese-filled flatbreads warm.
