Preparation
Step 1
How do you make oven-braised meat with vegetables? It’s very simple. First, prepare the ingredients from the list. You can use beef from any part of the carcass - during cooking it will still turn out tender. Adjust vegetables and spices to your taste; zucchini and eggplant work well here.
Step 2
Rinse the beef, pat dry, and cut into small pieces.
Step 3
Peel the potatoes and cut into medium cubes.
Step 4
Peel the carrots and slice into rounds. My carrots were small, so I used two.
Step 5
Peel the onion and cut it into 6-8 wedges.
Step 6
Heat part of the vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Add the beef and fry, stirring, until golden brown. At the end, sprinkle the meat with half of the spices and mix. Transfer the beef to a plate.
Step 7
Reduce the heat to medium. Pour the remaining oil into the skillet. Add the potatoes, carrots, and onion. Add the remaining spices. Fry, stirring, for 5-7 minutes.
Step 8
Put the fried vegetables and meat into a baking dish and add whole cherry tomatoes. You can replace cherry tomatoes with regular tomatoes cut into wedges. Pour in clean drinking water. You can also cook this dish in individual baking pots.
Step 9
Cover the dish with a lid. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 356°F for about 1 hour or longer, until the meat and vegetables are done.
Step 10
Plate the baked potatoes with meat, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve. Enjoy your meal!
