Preparation
Step 1
How do you make oven-baked soy “meat”? First, prepare the ingredients. Instead of mayonnaise you can use sour cream or make homemade mayonnaise. Use your favorite spices and seasonings. If you add soy sauce, keep in mind it’s quite salty - reduce the overall salt so you don’t over-salt the dish.
Step 2
Soak the soy “meat” in cold water for 10-20 minutes.
Step 3
Drain the water and gently squeeze the soy “meat”, then add mayonnaise and soy sauce and mix well.
Step 4
Wash and peel all the vegetables. Slice the onion into strips, press the garlic, and cut everything else into medium pieces.
Step 5
In a preheated skillet with vegetable oil, first sauté the carrots and onion.
Step 6
Then add the bell pepper and tomato and cook until half-done.
Step 7
In a baking dish, combine the soy “meat” in soy sauce, the sautéed vegetables, and the potatoes. Add salt, oregano, and basil.
Step 8
Mix everything thoroughly.
Step 9
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in an oven preheated to 180°C / 356°F for 30 minutes.
Step 10
Pat the dill dry and finely chop it with a knife.
Step 11
Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes. Serve the soy “meat” hot, sprinkled with chopped dill. Enjoy!
