Preparation
Step 1
How do you make oven-baked seasoned croutons? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making the croutons. It is best to use slightly stale bread, but fresh bread will also work.
Step 2
Cut the bread into pieces of any shape: sticks, large slices, or thin strips. I cut some into sticks and some into cubes. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F).
Step 3
While the oven is heating, prepare the flavored oil. Take a small deep bowl, pour in the vegetable oil and water. Add the ground paprika, garlic cloves crushed through a press, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything thoroughly. Let the mixture stand for about 10-15 minutes so the oil absorbs the aroma of the spices.
Step 4
Spread the sliced bread on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and place it in the hot oven for 5-7 minutes.
Step 5
Take a sturdy plastic bag. Pour a little of the flavored oil inside and spread it along the sides and bottom of the bag. Put a portion of the bread, slightly dried in the oven, into the bag, add another spoonful of oil on top, then add the next portion of bread.
Step 6
Continue alternating layers of bread and oil, but do not fill the bag all the way to the top. Close the bag tightly, leaving enough room for the air to move freely inside. Shake the bag well so that each piece of bread is evenly coated with oil.
Step 7
Spread the oil-coated croutons back onto the baking tray and return them to the oven. Bake for another 15–20 minutes at the same temperature. When the time is up, remove the croutons from the oven and let them cool at room temperature. After cooling, transfer the croutons to a suitable container and serve. Enjoy your meal!
