Oven-Baked Apple Strudel with Lavash
Very fast, very simple, very easy, and very tasty! You can make apple strudel from lavash in the oven in 30 minutes. It’s ideal sweet baking for beginners—even a child can handle it. You can replace the nuts in the filling or omit them, and even tart, firm apples work well here!

Step 1
How to make oven-baked apple strudel with lavash? Prepare the ingredients. Any apples will work. If they’re very tart, add more sugar. If they’re firm, that’s fine - we’ll still stew them in a pan. Instead of walnuts, you can use hazelnuts, peanuts, or other nuts.
Step 2
Wash and pat the apples dry. Remove the cores and peel, then slice them (not too thin). Drizzle with lemon juice so they don’t brown and toss to coat.
Step 3
Chop the walnuts into fine crumbs. You can use a blender or run them through a meat grinder.
Step 4
Melt the butter in a skillet, add the sugar, and stir.

Over low heat, stirring constantly, cook the sugar mixture until it turns golden.

Add the prepared apples to the skillet.
Step 7
Stew the apples over medium heat until soft (adjust to your stove). About 5 minutes before the end, add cinnamon and stir. Let the filling cool. If timing is tricky, add cinnamon as soon as the apples start to soften.

Crack the egg into a bowl and beat until smooth with a fork or whisk.

Lay out the lavash on a work surface. Brush the surface with the beaten egg.

Sprinkle the egg-brushed lavash with chopped walnuts (use half the walnuts per sheet of lavash).

Spread half of the apple filling evenly over the nut layer, leaving about 1.5-2 cm (≈ 1/2-3/4 in) around the edges.

Fold the short edges inward over the filling, then fold in both long sides.

Roll up into a log starting from a short end. Repeat with the second sheet of lavash.

Place the strudels on an oiled sheet of parchment paper and brush the tops with the remaining beaten egg.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 356°F for about 15 minutes. Adjust time and temperature to your oven.

Let the baked strudels cool. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
