Easy
About 10 min.
Preparation
Step 1
The ingredient quantities are approximate - adjust them to your taste. You can use any cheese as long as it grates easily. Milk can be of any fat content - the richer it is, the more caloric the dish will be.
Step 2
Wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, and remove the stem. Slice the tomatoes. Grate the cheese.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, combine the eggs with the milk. Add a pinch of salt and spices. Whisk until smooth.
Step 4
Preheat a frying pan over medium heat and add a little vegetable oil. You can also use butter for a richer flavor. Pour the egg mixture into the pan - the bottom will start to set immediately.
Step 5
Arrange the tomato slices evenly over the surface of the omelet. The more tomatoes you use, the juicier the omelet will be.
Step 6
Sprinkle the grated cheese on top. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and cook for 4-6 minutes. On low heat, it will take a bit longer, but it won’t burn.
Step 7
The omelet will puff up nicely under the lid and cook through. Once the surface is evenly set and no liquid remains, remove the pan from heat.
Step 8
Sprinkle the finished omelet with chopped fresh herbs, portion onto plates, and serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
