Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Use large eggs, preferably farm eggs. Such eggs are not only larger, but also usually have a brighter yolk, so the omelet will have a beautiful color. Before using the eggs, check that they are fresh. Place them in a bowl of room-temperature water. Fresh eggs will sink to the bottom. If the eggs float to the surface, it is better not to use them, because they are not very fresh.
Step 2
Crack the eggs into a bowl.
Step 3
Stir them with a fork.
Step 4
Salt the omelet mixture. In addition to salt, you can also add pepper, ground paprika, or other spices and seasonings if you like.
Step 5
Pour in the milk. This can be regular dairy milk or plant-based milk. Choose the fat content according to your taste. The classic ratio is considered to be this: for 1 egg, use as much milk as fits into half of that egg’s shell.
Step 6
Mix the omelet mixture. I am making a classic omelet without additions. But if you wish, you can add pieces of bacon or chicken, chopped tomatoes or sweet pepper, as well as fresh herbs, onion, or garlic.
Step 7
Pour the omelet mixture into a heatproof dish. If food tends to stick to your dish, it is best to grease it beforehand with a small amount of vegetable oil so the omelet does not stick.
Step 8
We will cook the omelet in a multicooker, and here there are 2 options. The first option is to cook it inside the multicooker bowl. In that case, place the dish with the omelet mixture into the bowl and add about 100 ml water, about 1/2 cup minus 1 tablespoon, to the bottom of the bowl. Cook on the Stew mode for 15 minutes.
Step 9
The second option is to cook it with steam. In that case, pour 200 ml water, about 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon, into the multicooker bowl. Place the dish with the omelet mixture on the steaming rack and cook on the Steam mode. The standard steaming time in multicookers is 10 minutes, but I recommend increasing it to 15 minutes so the eggs cook through well.
Step 10
This is the kind of omelet we get.
Step 11
This omelet is perfect for breakfast. Enjoy your meal!
