- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Use any ground meat you like: pork, beef or a mix. I prefer ground beef.
Step 2
Start by preparing the filling. Peel the carrot and cut it into small cubes or thin strips.
Step 3
Cut the tomato into small cubes. You can first peel it by making shallow cuts on the skin and dipping it into hot water for a couple of minutes. You can also replace a regular tomato with cherry tomatoes or chopped tomatoes in their own juice. If you don’t have any of these, 3 tablespoons of tomato paste or ketchup will work.
Step 4
If the green beans are whole, cut them into small pieces. If you’re using already chopped frozen beans, simply thaw them beforehand.
Step 5
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 6
Finely chop the herbs.
Step 7
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the ground meat, stirring, until all excess liquid has evaporated.
Step 8
Add the prepared tomatoes, green beans and carrot to the meat. Season everything with salt and pepper and fry, stirring, for another 4-5 minutes. The carrot and beans should become soft.
Step 9
At the end, add the chopped herbs and mix. Remove the pan from the heat.
Step 10
For the base you’ll need 2-3 sheets of lavash. Instead of thin Armenian lavash you can use 2-3 wheat roll sheets - they are thicker and the bottom of the lasagna won’t get soggy as much.
Step 11
Cut circles out of the lavash. Two of them should be larger than the pan in which you will form the lasagna, and the rest slightly smaller in diameter. I got 2 large circles and 4 smaller ones.
Step 12
Grease the pan with oil. Lay in the two large lavash circles so that they form raised sides.
Step 13
Put some of the meat filling on the lavash and sprinkle generously with cheese.
Step 14
Place a smaller lavash circle on top of the filling. Spread more filling and cheese over it.
Step 15
Continue layering lavash and filling in this way until all the meat is used. If you like, reserve a little grated cheese to sprinkle on top of the lasagna. Cover the last layer of filling with the final lavash circle. Pour in broth or plain water and, if desired, sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
Step 16
Place the pan on the stove, cover with a lid and cook the lasagna over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the broth has evaporated. Make sure the lasagna doesn’t burn on the bottom.
Step 17
If you wish, you can place the pan (only if the handle is oven-safe) into a preheated oven on grill mode so the cheese on top gets a golden crust. Enjoy your meal!
