About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake layered potatoes with ground meat in a multicooker? Prepare the ingredients for the topping. All the ingredients should be at room temperature, so take them out of the refrigerator in advance and leave them for about 30 minutes. Use sour cream with 20–30% fat. Choose the spices to your taste. I used Herbes de Provence.
Step 2
Whisk the egg until smooth. We only need the egg mixture to combine well, there is no need to beat it until fluffy.
Step 3
Add the rich sour cream, Herbes de Provence, and salt to the beaten egg. Rich sour cream makes the topping fuller, more delicate, and softer. If you use a different kind, the flavor will be less rich.
Step 4
Mix everything thoroughly until smooth. You can do this with a fork, spoon, or the same whisk. You should get a semi-thick, smooth mixture.
Step 5
Prepare the remaining ingredients: the ground meat, potatoes, cheese, ground black pepper, and salt. You can use any kind of ground meat you like: beef, pork, a beef and pork mix, or chicken, either store-bought or homemade. It should be thawed in advance.
Step 6
Peel the potatoes and cut them into not-too-thick rounds. If you cut the potatoes into cubes, the layer will not be fully closed and the meat juices from the ground meat will seep through the potatoes. That will reduce the juiciness of the meat layer.
Step 7
Grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater. There is no point in grating it finely, because the cheese will melt anyway. If you really love cheese, you can use a little more, then the crust will be richer. Choose a good-quality cheese without milk fat substitutes. It is better if the cheese melts well.
Step 8
Place the first layer into the multicooker bowl greased with vegetable oil: half of the potato rounds, slightly overlapping. The bottom of the multicooker bowl should be completely covered with potatoes, preferably in 2 layers. There should be no gaps between the slices. Lightly salt and pepper the potatoes.
Step 9
Spread all the ground meat evenly on top. I use a mixed ground meat of pork and beef. I did not salt or pepper the ground meat, because everything is topped with a sour cream mixture that already contains salt. During cooking, the layers will absorb the topping, and that will be enough. In our family, we do not like onion, so I did not add it. But you can cook it with onion. Add the onion to the ground meat before placing it in the multicooker.
Step 10
Pour half of the sour cream topping mixture over the ground meat.
Step 11
Lay the remaining potato rounds over the ground meat. Pour the remaining sour cream mixture over the potatoes.
Step 12
Sprinkle everything on top with the grated cheese.
Step 13
Place the bowl with the ground meat and potatoes into the multicooker. Set the Bake mode for 1 hour. Depending on the multicooker model, it may need more or less time. It also depends on the baking temperature, if your appliance lets you set it. I set the temperature to 160°C (320°F). After 1 hour, the ground meat and potatoes were ready. Let the finished dish cool slightly and serve. Enjoy your meal!
