Preparation
Step 1
How to bake a lavash “snail” pie with ground meat in the oven? Prepare the ingredients. Use any ground meat - beef, pork, or chicken. Add any spices you like. I used sweet paprika and black pepper.
Step 2
Peel and chop the onion. You can dice it, blend it, or grate it - I grated mine. If you like, lightly sauté the onion in vegetable oil. Add the onion and spices to the ground meat.
Step 3
Mix the meat until smooth. Because I grated the onion, it released a lot of juice, making the mixture juicy. If your mixture turns out dry, add a little water - this will make it easier to spread on the lavash.
Step 4
How to roll the meat “snail”? First, cut the lavash sheets in half.
Step 5
Spread the ground meat over the lavash so it evenly covers the whole sheet.
Step 6
Roll the lavash into a tube along the long side.
Step 7
Roll all the halves the same way. You will get four rolls.
Step 8
Take a suitable round pan. Mine is 20 cm (8 in) in diameter and springform. Grease the sides and bottom with vegetable oil.
Step 9
Place the lavash rolls into the pan, starting from the center and coiling them into a spiral.
Step 10
For the topping, grate the cheese finely. Add the eggs and sour cream.
Step 11
Mix until smooth.
Step 12
Pour the mixture over the pie. If you’re using a springform pan, wrap it in foil because the topping may leak. I didn’t have foil, so I placed the pan onto the base of a larger pan.
Step 13
Bake at 180-200°C / 356-392°F for 30-40 minutes until the top is nicely browned. Adjust time and temperature to your oven. Let the pie cool a little, then slice and serve like a cake.
