Preparation
Step 1
How do you make a kefir and mayonnaise batter pie? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Remove any damaged leaves from the green onions, rinse them, and dry them. Hard-boil the eggs for the filling and let them cool. Preheat the oven to 180°C / 356°F.
Step 2
Finely chop the green onions.
Step 3
Peel the eggs and grate them on a coarse grater or chop them with a knife. Add the eggs to the chopped onions.
Step 4
Salt the onion and egg mixture and mix. If desired, you can add your favorite spices, such as ground black pepper.
Step 5
Pour the kefir into a bowl, add the mayonnaise, and mix everything well. Instead of kefir, you can use runny sour cream, fermented baked milk, or fresh soured milk.
Step 6
In another bowl, beat the eggs with salt until fluffy. Add them to the bowl with the mayonnaise mixture and gently fold from bottom to top.
Step 7
Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift it through a sieve, or using a special flour sifter mug, into the bowl with the mixture. Knead the batter. It will be airy and runny. Be prepared that you may need a little less or a little more flour.
Step 8
Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and pour in half of the batter. Smooth the surface with a spoon or spatula.
Step 9
Spread the green onion and egg filling evenly over the whole surface.
Step 10
Pour the remaining batter over the filling and smooth the surface.
Step 11
Place the pie in the hot oven and bake at 180°C / 356°F for about 40 minutes, until done. The top should become golden, and a wooden skewer inserted into the pie should come out dry.
Step 12
Let it cool and serve warm with cold milk or hot tea or coffee. Enjoy!
