Preparation
Step 1
In a saucepan, heat the milk together with the vanilla pod and its seeds, along with the cinnamon stick, bringing the mixture to a boil.
Step 2
Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate pieces until they have fully melted.
Step 3
Whisk the hot chocolate briskly until it becomes frothy on top, then sweeten with sugar to taste. Pour into mugs and finish with a light dusting of nutmeg before serving.
Step 4
Add some marshmallows if you want to make your drink more festive.
