Preparation
Step 1
How do you make homemade pan-fried potato chips? First, prepare all the needed ingredients. Choose mature potatoes (not young potatoes). Use any spices you like; you can also add smoked paprika, a garlic seasoning blend, or ground chili pepper.
Step 2
Wash the potatoes well, peel them, then slice into very thin rounds. You can use a knife or a mandoline/grater.
Step 3
Rinse the sliced potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch. Then pat dry with paper towels.
Step 4
Sprinkle the potatoes with a mix of peppers and herbs plus salt.
Step 5
Mix the potato slices well with your hands and let them sit for about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Heat a skillet with vegetable oil over high heat and add the potatoes to fry.
Step 7
After 1-2 minutes, flip the chips to the other side and fry until golden.
Step 8
Transfer the potatoes to paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Step 9
Serve the finished potato chips as a snack with sour cream sauce, garlic sauce, cheese sauce, or ketchup. Enjoy!
