Easy
About 30 min.
Preparation
Step 1
How do you make ham roll-ups with cheese? Prepare the ingredients. Use a tasty, mild semi-hard fermented cheese that grates well. It’s best to use pre-sliced ham or ask the store to slice it very thin so it rolls easily. If that’s not possible, slice the ham as thinly and evenly as you can. I ended up with 14 thin slices.
Step 2
Hard-boil the eggs in advance, cool, and peel them. Finely chop the eggs with a knife.
Step 3
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 4
Peel the garlic and press it through a garlic press.
Step 5
In a bowl, combine the grated cheese, eggs, and garlic. Dress everything with mayonnaise. If you like, you can add salt and pepper, but I usually don’t add extra spices to mayo-based salads.
Step 6
Mix thoroughly. Adjust the thickness and the amount of mayonnaise to your taste. Mine turned out thick, not runny, and held its shape well. Add more mayonnaise if you prefer.
Step 7
Place 1 tbsp of the cheese-garlic filling on the edge of a ham slice and roll it up.
Step 8
Rinse the green onion stalks and pat them dry well.
Step 9
Tie each roll-up with a green onion strand.
Step 10
Shape the remaining roll-ups the same way.
Step 11
Arrange the roll-ups on a platter lined with lettuce leaves. If desired, sprinkle with chopped green onion and small pieces of sweet bell pepper, then serve. Enjoy!
