Easy
About 20 min.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C and grease a baking tray.
Step 2
In a medium saucepan, gently melt the margarine, caster sugar, and golden syrup over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Once melted, remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Add all the dry ingredients to the pan and stir well to form a soft dough.
Step 3
When the dough is cool enough to handle, lightly flour your hands and roll small portions into balls about the size of a coin. Arrange the dough balls on the greased baking tray, leaving enough space between each one for spreading during baking. Use a fork to gently press and mark the tops. The dough should yield around 30 biscuits.
Step 4
Place the tray in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden-brown.
Step 5
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy once crisp and cool.
