Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
How do you make Georgian-style mushrooms with walnuts? First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Choose any mushrooms (I used frozen button mushrooms). Boil fresh mushrooms beforehand, and thaw frozen ones at room temperature.
Step 2
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet, add the mushrooms and salt them. Fry until the excess water evaporates.
Step 3
Transfer the mushrooms to a separate plate.
Step 4
Peel the onion, rinse it with cold water, and cut into small pieces.
Step 5
Fry the onion until golden in the same skillet where the mushrooms were cooked.
Step 6
Grind the walnuts using a blender or a mortar and pestle.
Step 7
Peel the garlic and add it to the walnuts.
Step 8
Grind again.
Step 9
Add the fried onion and the walnut-garlic mixture to the mushrooms, then add vinegar and spices. In Georgia, wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar is used more often, but I used regular 9% distilled vinegar.
Step 10
Mix everything evenly, garnish with herbs or pomegranate seeds to your taste, and serve hot or cold. Enjoy your meal!
