Preparation
Step 1
How do you fry potatoes in a multicooker? Prepare the ingredients. Use any vegetable oil you like, but it should be refined.
Step 2
Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water with a brush, then peel them. Cut the potatoes into pieces of any shape. Do not cut them too small, or they may fall apart during frying. It is best if the pieces are about 1 cm, about 1/2 inch, thick.
Step 3
Put the chopped potatoes into a bowl and cover them with clean cold water. This will remove excess starch and help prevent the pieces from sticking together during frying. Let the potatoes stand like this for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Meanwhile, peel the onion and cut it into small cubes. If you do not like onion, you can skip this step. Or add garlic during frying instead.
Step 5
Spread the soaked potatoes in an even layer on a towel or napkin and let them sit for a while so the extra moisture is absorbed. Pat the potatoes dry on top with the ends of the towel. Dry potatoes will fry better and develop a golden crust.
Step 6
Set the appropriate mode on the multicooker. This depends on the model. On mine, it is the Bake mode. The frying time is 40 minutes, but yours may be different. Let the multicooker heat up for a few minutes. Pour in the oil and heat it. Put the potatoes into the multicooker bowl. Stir them with a special spatula. Close the lid and leave the potatoes to fry.
Step 7
Halfway through the set time, open the multicooker. Stir the potatoes with a spatula. Add the onion. Stir again. Close the lid and leave the potatoes to fry until the end of the program. Add salt 5 minutes before the end and stir the potatoes. Enjoy your meal!
