How do you fry an egg in bread in a pan? Prepare the ingredients. It is preferable to use toast bread in a square loaf shape. But if you do not have that kind of bread, an ordinary white loaf will also work.

Cut the bread into slices about 1 cm thick, about 0.4 inch, or use already sliced bread. By the way, I recommend not using fresh, soft bread for this dish, because it will crumble while being cut. Cut circles out of the center. You can do this with a small glass or simply cut a circle with a knife.

Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the bread slices into the pan.

Carefully crack an egg into the cut-out circle so that the yolk stays whole. I would like to point out that it is best to use small eggs for this dish, because there is not much room in the bread, and if the egg is large, the white will run out.

Salt lightly to taste. You can pepper them or add your favorite herbs or seasonings: ground paprika, herbes de Provence, or garlic powder. You can also sprinkle the dish with chopped fresh herbs: dill, parsley, or green onion. Cook the dish over low heat until the yolk reaches the desired firmness, preferably with a lid on. The approximate cooking time is about 7-10 minutes.
