Preparation
Step 1
How to make Fried Dumplings with Potatoes, Onions and Mushrooms? Prepare all the needed ingredients. You may use store-bought dumplings or homemade ones. I use ready-made frozen dumplings. They do not need to be thawed. Use dry-cured bacon - it is very aromatic.
Step 2
Peel the onion, rinse it in cold water and slice into half-rings. Sauté the onion for a couple of minutes in a hot pan with a little vegetable oil.
Step 3
Slice the bacon and add it to the pan with the onion. Stir and fry for another 1-2 minutes.
Step 4
Rinse the mushrooms well under running water and slice them. Add the mushrooms to the pan with the bacon. Fry everything together until the mushrooms are cooked, stirring occasionally so nothing burns.
Step 5
Meanwhile, in another pan, heat a bit of oil and add the dumplings. Fry until golden. Then pour in a little hot water, cover with a lid and cook for 5-7 minutes. The filling inside is already cooked, so you only need to cook the dough.
Step 6
By this time, the bacon–mushroom mixture will already be ready.
Step 7
The dumplings will have absorbed all the water.
Step 8
Add the sautéed mixture to the dumplings and stir everything together. Remove the pan from the heat.
Step 9
Sprinkle the finished dumplings with fresh herbs and serve hot. Enjoy!
