Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. You can use a whole chicken or any chicken pieces; chicken backs or other soup pieces also work well. The beans can be omitted if desired.
Step 2
Peel the carrot, potatoes and onion. Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage. Rinse the vegetables. Finely chop the onion and coarsely grate the carrot, or prepare them in another way you prefer.
Step 3
Thinly shred the cabbage. Cut the potatoes into small cubes or sticks and drain the canned beans.
Step 4
Heat a little vegetable oil in the multicooker bowl. Add the carrot and onion and cook on the Sauté or Fry setting for 5–10 minutes.
Step 5
Add the potatoes, chicken cut into small pieces, beans and cabbage to the multicooker bowl.
Step 6
Season with salt, ground black pepper and your favorite spices. Pour in hot water. For a thicker soup, add enough water to cover the ingredients by about ½–¾ inch; for a lighter soup, add more.
Step 7
Stir everything together, close the multicooker lid and select the Stew setting. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender.
Step 8
Season the finished soup with fresh herbs and a little ground black pepper. Serve hot, with sour cream if desired.
