French-Style Fish in the Oven
A very harmonious combination of ingredients! Everyone knows the dish “French-style meat.” I would like to suggest making fish based on this idea. The result is a very appetizing and tasty dish, but not as heavy as the meat version. Fish fillet goes perfectly with tomatoes and cheese. Give it a try!

Preparation
Step 1
How do you make French-style fish in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any boneless fish fillet. I will be cooking with pangasius. If the fish was frozen, it must be thawed at room temperature. Do not use hot water for thawing, as the fish will lose flavor. Wash the tomatoes. Peel the onion and rinse it in cold water.
Step 2
Pat the fish fillet dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut the fish into portion-sized pieces.
Step 3
Finely chop the peeled onion.
Step 4
Prepare a baking dish. It can be metal, ceramic, or glass. Grease the bottom of the dish with a small amount of vegetable oil and spread the chopped onion over the entire surface.
Step 5
Then place the cut fish on top. Sprinkle each piece of fish with a little salt and seasoning. For fish, I usually use a ready-made fish seasoning blend.
Step 6
Spread a small amount of mayonnaise on each piece of fish. Why is mayonnaise needed? It gives the finished dish juiciness. If you do not like mayonnaise, you can replace it with sour cream or yogurt.
Step 7
Cut the tomatoes into rounds and arrange them over the fish.
Step 8
For the final layer, add the cheese grated on a coarse or medium grater. Place the baking dish with the fish into an oven preheated to 200°C (400°F) for 25-30 minutes. Use your oven as a guide.
Step 9
Fish cooks quite quickly. During cooking, the cheese will melt and become golden. Remove the finished fish from the oven and place it onto plates.
Step 10
Enjoy your meal!
