Fluffy Rice Porridge
Simple and tasty, light and quick, made with water and without milk! This fluffy rice porridge can be served as a side dish to any meat or fish. If you add a little sugar while cooking, you get a nice, fully independent breakfast.

Step 1
How to make fluffy rice porridge? Prepare the necessary ingredients. To get really fluffy porridge, choose a long-grain rice variety. It doesn’t fall apart the way round-grain rice does. Take exactly twice as much water as rice. In a 1:2 ratio (1 part rice to 2 parts water), the rice turns out perfect.
Step 2
Rinse the prepared rice very well several times in cold water until the water is clear and transparent. Why rinse rice before cooking? This removes the starch that remains on the grains after processing. Once, pour boiling water over the rice. Drain off all excess water from the rinsed rice.
Step 3
Now pour water over the rice in a 1:2 ratio and put it on the stove. Bring the rice and water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt. If you plan to use the porridge as a side dish, you can add a little spice to the rice. Then reduce the heat to the lowest setting, cover with a lid and leave to cook for about 10 minutes.
Step 4
During cooking the rice will swell, increase in size and absorb almost all the water.
Step 5
Add the butter to the rice. On the hot rice it will start to melt immediately. Stir the rice with the butter and leave under the lid on the lowest heat for another 10 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let the rice sit and finish cooking for another 10-15 minutes.
Step 6
The fluffy rice porridge is ready! Spoon it onto plates and serve. If you like, you can add a little more butter when serving. Enjoy!
