Preparation
Step 1
How do you fry flatbreads with meat in a skillet? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Sift the flour through a sieve. This will aerate it, and the finished flatbreads will turn out more tender. The ground meat can be store-bought or homemade. It can be made from any kind of meat.
Step 2
Start with the dough. Warm the water to about 30°C (86°F), as you would for a starter. Crack the egg into a bowl, add the salt, pour in the vinegar and the warmed water. Beat all the ingredients together with a whisk.
Step 3
Begin adding the sifted flour in parts, kneading a soft dough. Depending on the quality of the flour, you may need a little more or a little less.
Step 4
Pour in the vegetable oil and knead the dough a little more with your hands. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave it for 15-20 minutes. During this time, the gluten in the flour will develop, and the dough will become more elastic and easier to work with.
Step 5
Prepare the meat filling. Peel the onion, rinse it, and cut it into several pieces. Run the prepared ground meat and the onion through a meat grinder together. Add ground black pepper and salt to taste. You can also add your favorite spices. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater and add it to the ground meat as well. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
Step 6
Knead the dough once again. After the second kneading, it should become very elastic and smooth. Divide the dough into an even number of pieces, because each flatbread will use 2 pieces. Take the first piece of dough, roll it into a thin round, place the meat filling on it, and spread it over the whole surface, leaving a little space around the edges.
Step 7
Cover it with the second thinly rolled round and seal the edges tightly, pressing out the air. If the edges turn out very thick or untidy, you can trim them carefully.
Step 8
Fry the finished flatbread on both sides in a small amount of vegetable oil until an appetizing golden crust forms. While frying, it is better to cover the skillet with a lid so the filling cooks through well and stays juicy. Enjoy your meal!
