Preparation
Step 1
How do you make a fizzy drink from baking soda and citric acid? Prepare all the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Pour the baking soda and citric acid into a bowl and thoroughly grind the dry ingredients together using a wooden spatula. There should be no grains or lumps left. You can also use a mortar for grinding.
Step 3
Next add the powdered sugar. It is best to use homemade powdered sugar made by yourself. Again, use the wooden spatula to continue grinding the dry ingredients together. In the end, you should get a very fine white powder.
Step 4
Prepare one serving of the fizzy drink at a time. Put 2 teaspoons of the white powder into a glass.
Step 5
Pour 200 ml, about 3/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon, of room-temperature water over the powder. When the water combines with the baking soda and citric acid, a reaction will occur, releasing carbon dioxide, which creates those fizzy bubbles. The powdered sugar simply gives the drink its sweet taste. The finished drink should be consumed immediately, because after some time the bubbles will stop forming. Enjoy your drink!
