Preparation
Step 1
How to bake pollock in lavash in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. I used 2 sheets of thin Armenian lavash. Any fish fillet will work. Divide the fillet into two pieces. Choose spices and seasonings to your taste.
Step 2
If the pollock fillet is frozen, defrost it in advance in the fridge or at room temperature. Rinse the fillet and pat it dry thoroughly. Salt the fillet on both sides, sprinkle with spices and seasonings to taste. I used dried basil. Drizzle the fillet with lemon juice and leave it to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Step 3
In a small bowl combine sour cream and mayonnaise, and mix. You can change the proportions of sour cream and mayonnaise according to your taste.
Step 4
Wash and dry the tomatoes. Slice the tomatoes into medium-thick rounds.
Step 5
Peel the onion beforehand and slice it into rings.
Step 6
On the lower edge of a lavash sheet, place the onion rings, slightly overlapping one another.
Step 7
Put a piece of fish fillet on top of the onion. Spread the fillet with the sour cream and mayonnaise mixture.
Step 8
Cover the pollock fillet with the tomato slices.
Step 9
Wrap the filling in the lavash, shaping it into an envelope. In the same way form the second lavash envelope with the fish filling.
Step 10
Lightly grease the bottom of a baking dish with vegetable oil. Place the prepared lavash envelopes into the dish. Brush the tops with the remaining sour cream and mayonnaise mixture.
Step 11
Bake the fish in lavash in a preheated 180°C (about 356°F) oven for about 30 minutes. For the first 20 minutes, cover the lavash parcels with foil so the top doesn’t brown too much. Then remove the foil and continue baking until a golden crust forms. The exact time may vary depending on your oven.
Step 12
Fish baked in lavash can be served both hot and cold. Enjoy your meal!
