Preparation
Step 1
Before decorating the eggs, they should first be boiled properly. For this, a few rules should be followed. Let’s begin. Take the eggs out of the refrigerator and bring them to room temperature by leaving them out for 1 hour. To keep the eggs from rolling around too much and bumping into one another during boiling, use a small saucepan.
Step 2
Next, place the eggs into the saucepan with cold water. Add salt to the water at a ratio of 2 tablespoons per 1 liter (about 4 cups) of water. This helps prevent the eggs from cracking, and even if they do crack, the egg white will not leak out. One minute after the water comes to a boil, reduce the heat and cook the eggs for 10–12 minutes, no longer. It is very important not to overcook them, otherwise the egg white will become rubbery and the yolk will develop an unpleasant grayish coating. Cool the hot eggs.
Step 3
Now prepare the paste. To do this, brew flour in boiling water (1/2 cup), stir well, and cool it to room temperature.
Step 4
Prepare the napkins. Separate them into layers, leaving only the top printed layer. It is best to choose napkins with small design elements, because they are easier to cut out and can be arranged more beautifully. However, larger designs can also be used. Cut out the patterned pieces.
Step 5
Place these pieces onto the eggs one by one and glue them on using the prepared paste and an ordinary brush. Let them dry on an egg holder for 2-3 hours. I used a plastic holder of the kind that is usually kept in the refrigerator. Then you can move the eggs to the place where they will be stored until Easter.
Step 6
You can pack such eggs into a gift box, decorate it, for example, with festive trim, and congratulate your family and loved ones on the holiday.
