Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients and spices needed for the appetizer. The finished pieces will be shaped into small decorative Christmas trees.
Step 2
Place 150 g cottage cheese in a large bowl and add 1 tablespoon sour cream.
Step 3
Blend the cottage cheese and sour cream until smooth and creamy.
Step 4
Add 50 g finely grated Parmesan, finely chopped dill to taste and 1 pressed garlic clove.
Step 5
Mix everything thoroughly until you have a thick, smooth cottage cheese and cheese filling.
Step 6
Cut 200 g salted or smoked salmon or trout into small cubes.
Step 7
Add the fish to the cottage cheese mixture and stir until evenly combined.
Step 8
Add 1 tablespoon mayonnaise and ground black pepper to taste. Mix again until the filling reaches a thick, spreadable consistency.
Step 9
Cut 2 fresh cucumbers lengthwise into thin ribbons. Place a little more than 1 teaspoon of the prepared filling onto each ribbon you plan to use.
Step 10
Roll the filled cucumber ribbons into fairly tight rolls and arrange them on a plate.
Step 11
Take additional cucumber ribbons and thread each one onto a toothpick in folds, accordion-style, gradually narrowing the folds to resemble a small Christmas tree.
Step 12
Insert each cucumber “tree” into a prepared roll. Secure a small piece of salmon or trout on top of the toothpick and sprinkle with finely chopped dill.
Step 13
Arrange the finished cucumber appetizers on a serving platter and serve chilled at a festive table.
Step 14
The appetizer is ready to serve.
