Table
Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. You can use chicken breast or boneless thigh meat. Replace the mushrooms with any other variety, if desired. Use cream and sour cream of any fat percentage. Higher-fat products will give the sauce a richer, creamier flavor. Rinse the chicken, pat it dry and cut it into small pieces.
Step 2
Clean the mushrooms thoroughly and cut them into pieces. Halve small mushrooms and cut larger ones into 4–6 pieces.
Step 3
Heat a frying pan and add a little vegetable oil. Add the mushrooms and cook for 6–8 minutes. The mushrooms will release liquid, which will gradually evaporate. Once they reduce in size and begin to brown, transfer them to a plate.
Step 4
Add the chicken to the same pan. Cook over high heat for 3–5 minutes, until it changes color and begins to brown.
Step 5
Peel and rinse the onion, then chop it. Add the onion to the chicken and cook everything together for another 1–2 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for 5–7 minutes.
Step 6
Once the onion is soft, return the cooked mushrooms to the pan.
Step 7
Add the sour cream and cream. Sprinkle in the flour, season with salt and spices to taste and mix well. Cook for another 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
Step 8
Grate the cheese.
Step 9
Divide the chicken and mushroom mixture among individual oven-safe or stovetop-safe pans, if desired. Sprinkle with the grated cheese, cover and heat briefly until the cheese melts.
Step 10
Serve the creamy chicken and mushroom skillet hot. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs, if desired.
