Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. Use any boneless part of the chicken, such as breast or thigh fillet. The carrot is used raw in this recipe, but you can boil it beforehand if preferred.
Step 2
Cook the chicken and eggs beforehand. Place the chicken in boiling lightly salted water and cook for approximately 30 minutes. Boil the eggs for 7–8 minutes, then transfer them to cold water. Leave the chicken and eggs to cool completely, then peel the eggs.
Step 3
Peel the onion and chop it finely. Place it in a bowl, pour in ⅔ cup of water and the vinegar, and leave to marinate for approximately 15 minutes. Drain thoroughly in a sieve and rinse briefly with water if desired.
Step 4
Assemble the salad in layers using a food ring placed on a serving plate. Add lettuce leaves underneath for decoration if desired. Finely chop the chicken and arrange it as the first layer, pressing it down gently. Spread a layer of mayonnaise over the chicken.
Step 5
Spread the drained pickled onion evenly over the chicken.
Step 6
Add the grated boiled eggs as the next layer and spread with mayonnaise.
Step 7
Peel the fresh carrot and grate it finely. Add it as the next layer and spread with another thin layer of mayonnaise.
Step 8
Finish with a layer of grated cheese, using any cheese you like. Carefully remove the food ring and chill the salad briefly in the refrigerator before serving.
