Classic Potato Cutlets in a Pan
Tasty, filling, and budget-friendly, for the whole family! Potato cutlets in a pan are made quite quickly from simple ingredients that everyone usually has at home. Even a beginner can make them. They can be served as a side dish or as a main dish with any sauce or simply with sour cream.

Preparation
Step 1
How do you fry potato cutlets in a pan? Very easily. Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Wash the potatoes under running water using a brush, peel them, and rinse them again.

Cut each potato into 2-3 pieces and place them in the pot in which you will boil them. Cover the potatoes with water so they are fully submerged. Put the pot with the potatoes on the heat. Bring to a boil and add a little salt. Boil the potatoes in simmering water over medium heat until tender. This will take about 20 minutes, depending on the type of potato. Then drain the hot water from the potatoes.
Step 3
Add the butter to the hot potatoes and mash them with a potato masher. The butter will begin to melt immediately. Then add the eggs and flour. You may need to add a little more flour. Mash everything again so that all the ingredients combine well. Let the finished potato mixture cool slightly so it is not too hot to shape into cutlets by hand. You will get a thick, sticky mixture.
Step 4
Pour the breadcrumbs into a separate dish. Using a wet spoon, take some of the potato mixture, place it into the breadcrumbs, and coat it on all sides. Shape small cutlets with your hands.
Step 5
Heat the frying pan until hot and pour in a little vegetable oil. Place the prepared cutlets into the hot pan. Fry them over medium heat for 1-2 minutes on each side.
Step 6
The finished cutlets will become appetizing and golden brown. Remove the cutlets from the pan and place them on a paper towel to remove any excess oil. Our mashed potato cutlets are ready.

Serve the breaded potato cutlets hot. They are very tasty as a dish on their own or as an addition to meat or fish. If you use these cutlets as the main dish, I recommend making a sour cream and garlic sauce for them. It turns out very tasty. Enjoy your meal!
