- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
How do you bake a chocolate mug cake in the microwave? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Use all-purpose flour. Sift it through a sieve into a bowl. Add the baking powder. It is exactly what will be responsible for the rise and fluffiness of the cakes.
Step 2
Add the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and a little salt to the bowl to enhance the flavor of the cakes. It is also better to sift the cocoa through a sieve, otherwise you will later have to spend a long time getting rid of cocoa lumps in the dry mixture.
Step 3
Mix the dry mixture thoroughly until all the ingredients are combined. We have a ready-made cake mix, just like from the store. By the way, you can prepare a larger batch of it in advance and, when needed, just add the liquid ingredients. This will save a lot of time when making this already very quick dessert.
Step 4
Pour the milk and vegetable oil into the bowl. Mix the mixture again until smooth. You may need a little less or a little more flour, so watch the consistency of the batter. It should be medium-thick and pourable.
Step 5
Grease the bottoms of mugs suitable for microwave use with sunflower oil. The sides of the mugs should remain dry. I used ordinary ceramic mugs with a volume of 360 ml, about 12 fl oz. Pour about 1 1/2 tablespoons of batter into each mug.
Step 6
Next, if desired, you can put a small piece of dark or milk chocolate into each mug. Then the cakes will have a molten center. But this step is completely optional. You can immediately divide all the batter evenly among the mugs without adding chocolate.
Step 7
Spread the remaining batter evenly over the chocolate among the mugs. In the end, the mugs should be filled no more than two-thirds of their volume, so that during baking the cakes do not rise above the rim. My batter does not even reach the middle of the mug.
Step 8
Bake the cakes for about 2 minutes at 800 watts in the microwave. Adjust according to your microwave. If you have a more powerful microwave, less time will be needed, and vice versa.
Step 9
The chocolate mug cakes with cocoa and without eggs should increase in volume and become springy, but at the same time not burn on the bottom. If it seems to you that after 2 minutes they are still a little underdone, you can simply bake them a bit longer. Before serving, dust the cakes with powdered sugar.
