Chicken Wings in Soy Sauce in a Skillet
Crispy chicken wings in soy sauce cooked in a skillet. Savory, slightly spicy, crispy wings fried in a pan. This dish is quick and easy to make and works well as an appetizer, a main dish for lunch or dinner, or simply as a crunchy snack. Very tasty and aromatic.

Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Of course, it is best to use chilled wings, since frozen chicken loses much of its nutritional value. You can use whole wings, as I did. Or you can use only the largest section of the wing, or cut off the thinnest tip if you prefer more meat. But if you enjoy nibbling the bones more, then you can cut off the meatiest part and use it in other dishes.
Step 2
Wash the wings well and be sure to dry them with paper towels. We will be frying the wings in oil, so even a drop of moisture will cause a lot of splattering.
Step 3
Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet. The oil can be any type, from sunflower to olive, but make sure to use only refined oil for frying, since refined oils do not burn during heat treatment.
Step 4
Cover with a lid and press it down firmly, the way people do when cooking tabaka-style chicken in a skillet. Fry over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes. The wings should cook through well and become golden brown.
Step 5
Carefully turn the wings over and fry them on the other side for another 10 minutes or so. You do not have to cover them with a lid this time. Fry until they reach your preferred level of browning.
Step 6
Pour in the soy sauce. Pay close attention to the choice of this ingredient. There are many cheap versions of soy sauce in stores now, but do not rush and do not chase the lowest price. Choose naturally brewed soy sauce, as that is the key to good quality. Simmer the wings for about 5 minutes, during which time the soy sauce will thicken.
Step 7
Salt the wings if needed. Soy sauce is very salty, so additional salt may not be necessary at all. But you can add pepper, garlic, and other seasonings or herbs to your taste. Perhaps thyme or herbes de Provence.
Step 8
Sprinkle the finished wings with sesame seeds and serve immediately. The result is very similar to a Chinese-style dish. Enjoy your meal!
