Chicken Pie with Potatoes and Mayonnaise
Quick and tasty! Even a child could make it. It saves time, and the result exceeds all expectations. Very delicious and filling. You can serve it hot as a main dish or cold as a snack. Especially good with a mug of hot sweet tea.

Easy
About 45 min.
Preparation
Step 1
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Wash and peel the potatoes and onion. For convenience, arrange everything in separate bowls.
Step 2
Cut the chicken fillet into thin strips. Then cut each strip in half again.
Step 3
Put the sliced chicken and onion (cut into half-rings) into a pot or bowl, add mayonnaise and salt. Mix and leave to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
Step 4
Make the dough. In a bowl add 4 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 cup of kefir. Mix until you get a uniform dough in the bowl.
Step 5
Transfer the dough onto the work surface and knead until smooth. Put it into a plastic bag and place in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
Step 6
Divide the ready dough into two equal parts.
Step 7
Grease the baking tray generously with butter. Grease it very thoroughly so the pie does not burn or stick.
Step 8
Roll out the first part of the dough with a rolling pin to fit your baking tray (in my case, it’s a regular baking sheet).
Step 9
Place the rolled dough onto the tray. Arrange the potatoes, previously cut into rounds, in a single layer on the dough.
Step 10
On top of the potato layer, spread the chicken that has already marinated with mayonnaise and onion. Distribute it so that the entire surface is evenly covered with chicken.
Step 11
Place the remaining sliced potatoes in rounds on top of the chicken layer. Spread them out evenly as well.
Step 12
Roll out the second part of the dough and place it over the potato layer. Pinch the edges together so the juices don’t leak out. Make a few small holes on top for steam to escape.
Step 13
Brush the pie with beaten egg and place it into a preheated oven at 180°C (about 356°F) for 1 hour. Watch the temperature: after 30 minutes, lower the oven temperature to 150°C (about 302°F) so the pie doesn’t burn.
Step 14
That’s it - the pie is ready. Let it sit for a while to cool slightly.
Step 15
Enjoy your meal!
